In the Energi, the centrepiece of the instrument cluster is the SmartGauge with EcoGuide. This remarkable system provides real-time information about your vehicle’s performance, helping you maximize driving efficiency. The left-side display screens include two separate modes: Engage and Empower. Engage mode displays gauges for both engine power and battery power, with an “EV” notification when the Energi is operating on the lithium-ion battery only. Empower mode includes everything in Engage, with the addition of information on how close you are to the on/off threshold of the gasoline engine, and the amount of power you’ve requested based on how far the pedal is depressed. So, just how far can you go in the Fusion Energi? With a 7.6 kWh lithium-ion battery and efficiency as good as 2.4 Le (litre equivalent) per 100 km, your explorations are only limited by the number of hours in the day. Regenerative braking helps ensure you stay topped up on the go. Feeling a bit drained? Simply plug the Energi in for a quick charge, and get back on the road in no time.
